Children's Expectorant is a special alcohol-free formula developed especially for children. It helps loosen phlegm and thin bronchial secretions to rid the bronchial passageway of bothersome mucus. It also helps ease minor sore throat due to excessive coughing. Guaifenesin, wild cherry bark, menthol, horehound, cocillana bark extract and rose hips. For children 6 to 12 years: 1 tablespoonful every 4 hours Children 2 to 6 years of age: one teaspoon every 4 hours. Do not exceed 4 doses in a 24-hour period. For children under 2 years of age, consult a doctor. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately. Do not give this product for persistent or chronic coughs, such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis or emphysema, or where cough is accompanied by excessive phlegm, unless directed by a physician. A persistent cough may be a sign of a serious condition. If cough persists for more than 1 week, tends to recur or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache, consult a physician.
